How to Use Journal the Word

Journal the Word is a simple companion for Scripture reading and reflection. It is designed to help you slow down, engage the text, and respond thoughtfully.

Getting Started

  1. Select a reading plan if you would like structured daily guidance from the Plans screen (open book icon at the bottom of the app).
  2. Choose a journaling method such as HEAR, SOAP, or REAP from the “Daily Journal” screen.
  3. Enter your passage manually or use the Bible Lookup feature. (You can select from the ESV, CSB, NIV, and NASB on the settings screen for the version that populates when you look up a verse or short passage.)
  4. Reflect and write through each section.
